Oh, goddammit. I have to get an embroidery machine now.
The other day I was shopping at Spitfire Girl here in LA, one of my favorite places to buy cards and gifts, and I came across some embroidery by Coral and Tusk. I thought these cocktail napkins were especially charming.
I wondered how someone could do such intricate-looking embroidery on a large scale. Did the designer employ people with needles for fingers who work around the clock? I did a bit of Googling and found my answer. The designer, Stephanie Housley, scans her designs into software that is then attached to an embroidery machine. You can read more about her process and inspirations here. I want to make a bajillion of these.
